Detach and reset
New Lenox Solar Panel Removal and Reinstallation
Your array comes off, your roofer gets a bare deck, and the system goes back on new mounts and gets tested before we leave.
Off the Roof, Then Back On, In the Right Order
A roofer cannot shingle around a solar array. Somebody has to take it off first, and that somebody should know solar. Solar Panel Removal New Lenox handles the whole detach and reset. We shut the system down safely and disconnect it. Panels, racking and conduit come off. Each module is tagged and written onto an inventory list, so it goes back exactly where it started. The equipment sits in storage while the roof gets replaced. Then we come back. New mounts go down, and every roof penetration is re-flashed against the new shingles. Panels return to their spots, the wiring is reconnected and the system is tested to confirm it is producing. You get documentation of what came off, what went back and what the system read at the end. Most of our calls come from homeowners in New Lenox, Mokena and Frankfort whose roofers have already set a tear-off date. That date is what we plan around.
What a Detach and Reset Covers
This is the standard scope. Your quote lists each item so you can see what you are paying for.
Safe shutdown
The system is powered down and disconnected in the correct order before anyone touches a panel.
Panel and racking removal
Modules, rails, clamps and conduit come off the roof without dragging or stacking on the shingles.
Labels and inventory
Each panel is tagged with its position and logged, along with the hardware that held it.
Storage during the reroof
Equipment is stored protected from impact and weather until the new roof is down.
New mounts and flashing
Fresh attachments and new flashing at every penetration, set into the new roof.
Reinstallation
Panels go back in their original positions on the original racking layout.
Reconnection and testing
Wiring is reconnected and the system is checked to confirm it is producing.
Job documentation
Photos, the inventory sheet and the final reading, kept for your records.
How the Job Runs
Price and date
Share your panel count and when tear-off is planned. We inspect the array, photograph it and record its output, then give you a firm itemized price by phone, usually within 48 hours.
Detach before tear-off
When detach day arrives, power is cut, the modules and rails come down and everything is labeled and stored. The roofer arrives to an open deck.
Reset after the roof
Once the new roof is finished, fresh mounts and flashing go into it, the modules are rehung, the wiring is reconnected and output is checked. You get the paperwork when we are done.
Why People Hand Us the Solar Side
Solar people, not improvised help
The wiring and the panels are handled by a crew that does detach and reset as its main job.
Nothing goes missing
Tags and a written log account for each module and clamp when it is time to reset.
A clear finish line
The job is done when the system tests as producing, not when the last panel is bolted down.
- Every panel labeled
- New flashing at each mount
- Tested before we leave
- Firm price by phone
